the Ideaforge Maker Studio

Introducing a new program at the Shatford Centre, Okanagan School of the Arts : the Ideaforge Maker Studio! This maker space is a shared creative workshop space where you can access specialized equipment and tools for making of all kinds – sewing, crafting, painting, prototyping – the possibilities are endless. Manda Maggs, the organizer and program leader on this project, has been bringing in donations and loans of equipment and materials to provide a range of quality tools that support creative process and production – things like a 3D printer, laser cutter/engraver, sewing machines, hand tools, photography boxes, foam cutters, and more. There are maker memberships available at, and if you would like to volunteer or donate items or materials, you can get credits towards your membership. If you don’t want to be a member, drop-in fees are $15. Currently hours are every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 1pm-9pm (except holidays and Shatford Centre closures).
