Introducing a new program at the Shatford Centre, Okanagan School of the Arts : the Ideaforge Maker Studio! This maker space is a shared creative workshop space where you can access specialized equipment and tools for making of all kinds – sewing, crafting, painting, prototyping – the possibilities are endless. Manda Maggs, the organizer and program leader on this project, has been bringing in donations and loans of equipment and materials to provide a range of quality tools that support creative process and production – things like a 3D printer, laser cutter/engraver, sewing machines, hand tools, photography boxes, foam cutters, and more. There are maker memberships available at www.memberplanet.com/ideaforge, and if you would like to volunteer or donate items or materials, you can get credits towards your membership. If you don’t want to be a member, drop-in fees are $15. Currently hours are every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 1pm-9pm (except holidays and Shatford Centre closures).
