Many Hats Starts 2019 Season with Racy Comedy “Swing Dance”

Happy 2019!

Your friends at Many Hats are getting the year off to a rollicking start with a racy adult-themed comedy that will tickle your funny bone and chase the post-holiday blues far, far away!

Swing Dance by Canadian Playwright Lynda Martens features two baby boomer couples struggling with the issues of how to feel young, connected, alive, attracted and wanted.

Walter desperately employs bold pharmaceutical measures (the little blue pill) to reconnect with his wife Vicky after she launches a new cupcake career with her sophisticated partner Fred. But neither is prepared for the bombshell that Fred and his wife Sally drop during dinner one night. Let’s just say it’s an epic misunderstanding of what ‘swinging’ is and it’s not dancing!

Swing Dance opens February 7 and runs until March 2. Performances are Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights at 8:00. Sunday matinees at 2:00.   Swing Dance is Directed by Jane Pilkey (fresh from her stellar performance in ‘On a First Name Basis’) and Produced by Ben Amos.  The cast includes Karla Hennig, Clem Jones, Al Toots, and Jeanne Wnuk.

Tickets are $25 for adults and $22 for students and seniors (GST included). As usual tickets can be purchased from our good friends next door at The Nest and Nectar or reserved during their business hours by phoning 250-493-7275. (note that The Nest and Nectar is closed on Mondays.)

There will TWO gala opening nights! First, on Thursday February 7 there will be our traditional opening reception immediately following the performance featuring treats from the Nest and Nectar and wines from our official winery sponsor Play Estate.

THEN on Friday February 8 there will be a reception for opening night number two featuring the most excellent craft brews of The Cannery Brewing Company, more goodies from Nest and Nectar and door prizes furnished by Andre Martin of our official printing sponsor, Minuteman Press.

Please note that the Cannery Trade Centre is a very busy place! Often parking is a premium. Please plan to arrive early and observe the ‘no parking’ signage. Failure to do so may result in your vehicle being towed!

As a consideration for those with sensitivities please refrain from wearing fragrances to the theatre.  Please note that alcoholic beverages and chewing gum are not permitted in the theatre.

The Nest and Nectar will be open Tuesday through Saturday with full dinner service on show nights. And they also have a dynamite Sunday Brunch which has proven extremely popular! May we suggest you phone 250-493-7275 for a reservation to avoid disappointment? Check out their menu and hours of service here www.nestandnectar.ca
