The Okanagan School of the Arts is seeking a motivated person who can work with the Board and a small staff team to implement a sustainable social enterprise business model for the Shatford Centre.
Established in 1960, the OSA is one of the longest-running schools of its type in Canada. The OSA offers arts courses for students of all ages and stages of development, and hosts periodic visual art exhibitions. Our home is the Shatford Centre, a centre of creativity that has been a part of Penticton’s history for almost 100 years. We are moving forward with a renewed vision and are solidifying our role as a fixture in the Penticton community.
The part-time Operations Coordinator will coordinate with the Executive Director to implement and improve a strategy to increase utilization of, and revenue from, facility rentals and events. They will oversee facility scheduling, logistics planning, and relationships with tenants/renters.
- Implement a strategy to increase utilization of, and revenue from, the Shatford Centre
- Manage rental and tenant inquiries, facility scheduling, and rental agreements
- Maintain detailed rental and lease records
- Act as primary point of contact for tenants, short term renters, and events
- Distribute invoices and collect damage deposits, fees, rents, and other payments as required
- Distribute, track, and manage keys, key codes, fobs, and other security system tools for users of the Shatford building
- Ensure equipment and supplies are ordered and stocked to ensure efficient facility usage in accordance with the budget
- Lead and supervise building maintenance, event set up, contractors, and volunteers
- Plan, support, and implement key events, programs, and activities in collaboration with the Executive Director
- Assist with the maintenance, upkeep, and improvements to the building and assets
- Advise and assist the Executive Director with capital improvement projects, renovations, and building improvements
- Ensure building security standards are established and met
- Act as a point of contact for security alarm response
- Communicate a monthly report to the Board of Directors through the Executive Director

Member of: operations team made up of the Executive Director, custodial staff, summer students, volunteers, and other staff as the operations budget permits.
Terms and Conditions:
Approximately 15 to 30 hours per week, with the option to move to full-time employment if revenue targets are met/exceeded.

Experienced costume builders will be on hand to lend guidance if needed.
